Safeguarding training for CiC Members

Booking is now open for CiC safeguarding training

At the end of March, Trevor Howard shared the excellent news that CiC is working with thirtyone:eight (formerly CCPAS) to provide our members with bespoke training on safeguarding.

Well the wait is finally over! You can now book into one of three sessions:

Tuesday 25th May, 2pm - 4.30pm
Tuesday 8th June, 10am - 12.30pm
Saturday 3rd July, 10am - 12.30pm

However, you need to act fast!

With only 30 places available at each training session, and over 200 accredited individuals required to complete the training, I encourage you to book now to avoid disappointment.

Now, if your inbox looks anything like mine, then I'm aware you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to training webinars and online workshops. So why prioritise CiC's training with thirtyone:eight? Well, I hope the following reasons convince you that it's a good idea to book quickly.

1. Safeguarding training is compulsory for all CiC ministers.

I know we're under grace rather than the law(!), but rules are important to keep us and those we are ministering to safe. CiC members need a Foundation/Level 3 or equivalent in children and adults safeguarding and both should be renewed every three years.

2. Our training will save you time and money!

To access the equivalent training directly through thirtyone:eight, you will be required to attend two online courses, costing £90 and requiring 5 hours of your time. Our training is only £30 and lasts for 2.5 hours.

3. Training adapted with you in mind

Thirtyone:eight have been working closely with us to better understand the unique challenges and demands on those serving in the independent church sector. In addition to covering adult and child safeguarding, topics will include gender, race and other pressing issues that our members face. So rather than just meeting a requirement, we hope the training will really help to inform your ministry in a diverse sector and changing world.

Finally, although we hope to hold additional courses later this year, there are no guarantees that this will be possible. So please don't miss this opportunity.
